At the completion of this course, the student
will be able to: describe the major types and functions of couplings;
explain the basic terminology and principles of shaft alignment;
and describe soft foot, the conditions that can cause it, as well
as how to correct soft foot using a laser-based alignment system.
In addition, the student will be able to explain the operation of
a laser-based alignment system and how to troubleshoot some laser
alignment problems.
